Position Summary

The Town of East Spencer is seeking a dependable, community-oriented individual to join our Parks & Recreation team. This position is responsible for helping maintain clean, safe, and welcoming parks and recreational facilities while providing excellent customer service to residents and visitors. The work is primarily outdoors with some indoor responsibilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of parks, restrooms, picnic shelters, playgrounds, athletic fields, and other recreational facilities.

• Perform routine maintenance, light repairs, and general upkeep of park equipment and grounds.

• Assist with setting up and breaking down for Parks & Recreation programs, events, and activities.

• Monitor park facilities to promote a safe environment and ensure compliance with park rules and regulations.

• Provide friendly assistance and information to park visitors.

• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, vandalism, or unusual incidents to the Parks & Recreation Supervisor.

• Assist with emergency situations, including administering basic first aid when appropriate and contacting emergency services if needed.

• Support all other Parks & Recreation operations and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be dependable, responsible, and community-oriented.

• Must enjoy working outdoors in various weather conditions.

• Cleaning and maintaining facilities is a primary responsibility.

• Must have reliable transportation.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Employment Requirements

• Successful completion of a background check.

• Successful completion of a drug screening.

• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, walking, bending, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors.
